COLD PRESSED FLAXSEED OIL

Flaxseed oil is extracted from flax seeds that are wood pressed to extract the oil. Also known as flax oil or linseed oil. These  oils contain the essential omega-3 fatty acid alpha-linolenic acid (ALA). In foods, flaxseed oil is used in salad dressings and in margarines. They are also used as a medicine.

Flaxseed oil (Alsi Oil) is used for carpal tunnel syndrome, diabetic foot ulcers, and dry eye. It is also used for heart disease, high blood pressure, rheumatoid arthritis (RA), high levels of cholesterol or other fats (lipids) in the blood (hyperlipidemia), and many other conditions, but there is no good scientific evidence to support these uses.

Flaxseed oil nutritional profile is different from that of the whole seed. For example, flaxseeds contain fiber, minerals and vitamins but flaxseed oil does not.

FOLLOWING ARE THE BENEFITS OF COLD PRESSED FLAXSEED OIL

1. Reducing Cholesterol

Like flaxseed, flaxseed oil helps to lower cholesterol levels. The alpha linoleic acid in flaxseed oil might play a role in decreasing low-density lipoprotein (LDL) often known as bad cholesterol.

2. Fighting Cancer

Flaxseed oil is known for its role in suppressing growth of tumor cells and promoting cancer cell death due to its high antioxidant profile.

People with cancer use the bud wig diet because flaxseed contains omega-3. Research has shown that omega-3 fatty acids have some effect on cancer cells. The omega-3 reduces the levels of certain chemicals associated with cancer. Flax seed also contains substances called lignans and phytoestrogens.

3. Reducing Diabetes Risk

Flax seeds and flaxseed oil have multiple health benefits that may help people with diabetes manage the condition. Since they’re rich in fiber, omega-3 fatty acids, and unique plant compounds, they may improve blood sugar control, insulin sensitivity, and reduce risk factors for heart disease.

4. Decreasing Inflammation

In one meta-analysis flaxseed oil and its derivatives reduced circulating C-reactive protein levels, which is a marker of inflammation.

According to research, flaxseed oil may work to reduce inflammation, which can help people who experience pain. It is believed that due to the omega-3 fatty acid content, it may even be as effective as olive oil in this realm. It especially seems to have an immense effect on people who are obese, according to one study.

5. Improvement in Heart Function

Omega-3 fatty acids in flaxseed oil offer a major health benefit in the heart and circulatory system. Because of the fact that these acids help to reduce inflammation, the blood vessels open up to allow more blood to flow through unencumbered as more omega-3 fatty acids are introduced into the body.

This action will help to stave off both heart attack and stroke, two of the leading causes of death. Further, the omega-3 fatty acids help your pulmonary system in another way, too. They can lower blood pressure and also reduce the risk of irregular heartbeat.

6. Constipation and Diarrhea Relief

Flaxseed oil not only helps to promote regular bowel movements, but it also helps to reduce diarrhea. This combination is amazing for anyone wishing to have more regular and comfortable bowel movements.

7. Flaxseed Oil for Hair Loss

Flaxseed oil helps to maintain healthy hair and prevents hair loss. A study published in the NCBI concluded that the omega-3 fatty acids present in flaxseed oil can help in strengthening your hairs. It is one of the highly rich sources of omega-3 and if you have dry hair or flaky scalp, it is highly recommended that you use flaxseed oil for hair regularly. Many people use Flaxseed Oil for Skin to make it look glowy.

HOW IS COLD PRESSED FLAXSEED OIL DIFFERENT FROM REFINED SESAME OIL?

  • There are multiple use of flaxseed oil.
  • Oils are refined by a process that removes the “impurities” that give an oil its naturally occurring flavor, color and nutrients. In exchange, the oil becomes stable at higher temperatures, ideal to use for deep frying. For low- or no-heat applications or deep frying, unrefined flaxseed oil is superior since it contributes flavor and nutrients essential to a healthy diet.
  • The oil is obtained by solely wood pressing without any use of chemicals and preservatives.
  • Linen Seed Oil, also known as flaxseed oil or flax oil (in its edible form), is a colourless yellowish oil obtained from the dried, ripened seeds of the flax plant (Linum usitatissimum).

HOW TO USE COLD PRESSED FLAXSEED OIL?

  • Virgin cold-pressed linseed oil, also known as Extra Virgin Flaxseed Oil, gets easily oxidized, and may quickly turn rancid, with an unpleasant smell, thus need to be refrigerated.
  • Though it is edible, linseed oil is not generally recommended for use in cooking, as it’s smoke point is nearby 1070C.
  • Fresh, refrigerated and unprocessed, linseed oil is used as a nutritional supplement and is a traditional European ethnic food, highly regarded for its nutty flavor. Generally flaxseed oil contains polyunsaturated fats (alpha-linolenic acid, linoleic acid) anywhere between 57% and 71%.

1. Cooking

Cold Pressed Flaxseed Oil for Cooking is not very suitable. As it is rich in polyunsaturated fats, which are highly unstable, hence should not be exposed heat. Instead Natural Flaxseed Oil should be used as a salad dressing oil.

2. A Natural Varnish in Wood finishing

Linseed Oil is a drying oil, meaning it can polymerize into a solid form. Owing to its polymer-forming properties, linseed oil can be used on its own or blended with combinations of other oils, resins or solvents as an impregnator, drying oil finish or varnish in wood finishing, as a pigment binder in oil paints, as a plasticizer and hardener in putty, and in the manufacture of linoleum.

HOW TO STORE COLD PRESSED FLAXSEED OIL?

Cold Pressed Flaxseed Oil is sensitive to light and heat, so store it in a cool, dark place. It is best to buy it in an opaque or dark glass bottle to protect it from the light.

DOES FLAX OIL NEED TO BE REFRIGERATED?

  • Flax oil should be refrigerated prior to opening. Once opened, all bottles of flax oil should be refrigerated for safety.
  • Look for some side effects of flaxseed oil that you may experience.

Side effects of flaxseed include:

  • allergic reactions.
  • diarrhea (oil)
  • intestinal obstruction.
  • bloating.
  • stomach ache.
  • constipation.
  • gas (flatulence)

We recommend that the oil we send out is consumed quickly as a fresh oil to enjoy it’s flavor and nutritional benefits at their best. Like all produce linseed (flax) does deteriorate over time.

CAN FLAX OIL GO BAD?

Flax oil is extremely unstable and goes rancid quickly. Purchase it only in refrigerated sections in opaque containers. You’ll often see it in the vitamin aisles – stay away from that stuff! It goes rancid 6 weeks after pressing, so watch expiration dates carefully, especially before purchasing.

HOW CAN YOU TELL IF FLAXSEED OIL IS BAD?

The best way to tell if your flaxseed product is rancid is to give it the smell test. When past their prime, those omega-3s inside the seeds release an off-putting sour odor. If it didn’t pass the sniff test or there is any sort of bitter flavor, that’s the sign to throw your flaxseeds oil.

HOW LONG DOES FLAXSEED OIL LAST?

Unopened bottled lasts about six months.

1. Flaxseed Oil vs Fish Oil- which is best?

Organic Flaxseed Oil and fish oil provide similar health benefits, including for skin and blood pressure control. Only fish oil contains the active EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids and may be more helpful in improving overall heart health, inflammation, and mental health symptoms.

2. Is it OK to take fish oil and flaxseed together?

You can take Edible Flaxseed Oil and fish oil together as long as there are no contraindications regarding your medications or health concerns. Flaxseed oil contains the omega-3 fatty acid called alpha-linolenic acid (ALA,) whereas fish oil contains docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA).
