Preparing honey is not a piece of cake. Honey bees have to work really hard to create delicious sweet honey for themselves. But they make ample amount of honey, so humans can also eat this precious golden liquid and reap it’s benefits.

First get clear, not all bees make honey!

In beehives there is one queen bee, multiple foragers and worker bees and drones (male bees).

To your surprise.

A single honey bee can produce 1 tablespoon of honey in its lifetime.

And bees only extract nectar from flowers within 3km radius of their beehives.

So let’s now understand, how honey bee makes honey:

Worker bees search for nectar source and when they find it, they let other bees know. Then the bees go to the source and suck the nectar out of the flower till their sacs (honey stomach) are full. Once full, the bees return to their hive for further processing.

On the way back the nectar that is rich in disaccharide: (sucrose and water) is broken down into monosaccharide: (glucose and fructose and water molecules.) This broken down nectar is then passed mouth-to-mouth from bee to bee until the desired consistency of the honey is achieved. Still this honey is immature with high moisture content, the honey is left in the the honeycomb cell for maturing i.e. until it’s moisture content is reduced to <20%. This changes the nectar into honey.

As the moisture level goes down the honey matures and bees seal the honey filled comb with their special beeswax. And now the honey is ideally ready for consumption.

Beekeeping is the practice of keeping bee boxes in forest areas, farms and open lands. Their presence also provides farmers with environmental and economic benefits. So it’s win win situation for both.

The most important part of beekeeping is that in this entire process the bees or their honeycombs doesn’t get hurt.

Beekeepers keep wooden boxes consisting of wooden frame with honeycomb blueprint. This blueprint gives the bees to build their honeycomb on the print.

Once the bees have made honey, it is a very easy process to lift off the plates to remove the honey without damaging or killing any bees along the way and put it back.

Healthy roots get inspiration from such beekeepers and buy honey from them. The extracted honey is pure, unadulterated and non heated.

Yes, you read it correctly. It is indeed a threat to public health and ecosystem too. Industrial honey manufacturers for sake of savings more money either dilute real honey with sugar syrup derived from plants, like high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) or with beetroot syrup. They even chemically modify the sugars in these syrups to make them look like real honey.

Fake honey is bad for beekeepers and bad for bees too. Adulterated honey also ultimately drives honey prices down, and people often are devoid of real honey.

Using Pure Himalayan Honey regularly on a daily basis is extremely beneficial and the best kind of Honey you can have.

Healthy roots give you best quality PURE honey without adulterations by removing the middleman and bring you with natural honey straight from honest and hardworking beekeepers.

Natural Himalayan Honey is neither heated nor ultrafiltered. It can be used for medicinal purposes for various health benefits.
